Deep Black: Reloaded - by Biart Games, is an amphibious third-person shooter. With pretty visuals and an interesting underwater look, it sets out to be an entertaining, against-the-grain action romp. It delivers none of that. The controls are the first issue you’ll notice. The game seems like it was designed to be a first-person shooter, but accidentally ended up in third-person. The camera swings around at a dizzying pace, and left this reviewer feeling motion sick after only a short time playing. The character model gets in the way of actually being able to pay attention to the environment, which just adds to the irritating camera. The thing that makes me certain that this should have been made in first-person is player movement. Moving the mouse makes the character spin on the spot, which is particularly noticeable when moving forwards, and results in a very unnatural look that just can’t be ignored. With all the effort the developer has put into making the player appear natural when walking, you would think some time could have been spent on a turning or strafing animation.
